The cabin was the perfect location and size for our family of 5. From paddle boating and fishing on the pond, to hanging out with the horses, to tubing on the lake, this property has a little something for everyone. The best part of the property could very well be the over-sized screened in porch which offers the perfect setting for morning coffee and evening drinks/dinners! You will not be disappointed if you rent this property!
My wife and stayed at the cabin for a month to get away from the cold of New England and could not have been happier with our choice. The cabin is pretty inside and out, and we spent a lot of relaxing time on the screened deck looking out over the water. The fireplace was great on the cool nights and we had a lot of fun playing pool with our guests. My wife especially enjoyed visiting the horses with a few carrots in hand. Great fishing and lots of golfing nearby. The owners were very responsive to any questions and we will look at this property first as we consider spending time in the area again next winter.
We enjoyed three nights at the cabin and it was exactly what we were looking for. The cabin is beautiful and very comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed (we cooked dinner two nights we were there). We also took advantage of the cabin's dock on Lake Oconee which is walking distance from the cabin. It was a great stay and we hope to be back!
My husband and I stayed at "The Cabin" and enjoyed the wood burning fireplace and screened porch that overlooks a large private pond. BEWARE before you book this property, you do share it with guests from a huge house that is about 50 yards away. The time we were there the house had more than 10 cars of guests. There were 10 people fishing all around the pond (day and night) and they faced straight into the Cabin or walked by the porch which left them 2 feet away. This offered no feeling of privacy. They also played loud music -it was nice music- but could be heard all over the property. All-in-all, not the peaceful and romantic experience we were hoping for but the house, property and hosts were great and I would recommend it for families.
Thanks for your review, we work hard to insure all of guest have an enjoyable stay. Most lake properties only have 1/2 acre lot and are about 50 feet apart. This is the largest tract of land on Lake Oconee inside a gated community, that contains 28 acres. The Cabin is located 500 ft from any other home. As you can see from other reviews every guest has been very happy with there stay.
I think everyone that came to our wedding reception had an amazing time. It was all so beautifully maintained - the furnishings are awesome the construction of the house and cabin are impeccable as are the furnishings. Honestly it couldn't be better. For those of us who stayed the whole weekend we just felt like we were in a bubble none of us wanted to leave. There's already talk of renting this place again next summer. Loved it !!!! Thank you to the owners for their impeccable taste and execution of design.
What a terrific place. Beautiful decorating and really nice appointments. The setting is to die for.....you can't miss if you rent this place. With that being said....we were there for hurricane Irma, gulp. We lost power for two days and the owner couldn't have been more accommodating. If you have a wedding in your future inquire about using the two homes as a venue for a dream come true service and reception. The whole area is terrific, plenty of golfing, scenery, fishing and good food.
Just returned from a week's stay at the Cabin. We ultimately chose it over other properties because of the wonderful reviews by others who have stayed. Most every review mentions that it's even better than the reviews....and we have to agree. Our family of seven (including 5 older kids) slept comfortably in the cabin....perfect size! It has every amenity needed for cooking meals including a gas grill on the screened porch. Towels and linens were top notch and the cabin was clean as a whistle when we arrived. The property is spacious. We set up a badminton court beside the cabin and had plenty of room to run around. We took advantage of the fire pit and roasted marshmallows at night. We also swam in the clean pond each day. I recommend renting the pontoon boat and taking advantage of Lake Oconee. The boats are newer and in perfect condition. We spent hours and hours on the lake. Communication with the owners before and during our stay was great. Quick replies and excellent suggestions were greatly appreciated. We can't find one thing bad to say about our experience at the Cabin. Our highest recommendation!
This was our second time staying in this lovely cabin. This most definitely will continue to be our "go to" place whenever we visit Lake Oconee. The decor is amazing and so unique! The house is kept immaculate, the kitchen has everything you need and the views are amazing, especially from the extra large porch. Lake and horse views are a big plus!! Andrea is quick at responding to any questions or needs you may have, and she is always so friendly. The groundskeeper, Lee, is always available to help with any questions you might have, as well. We are looking so forward to our next stay at this cozy cabin!!
My family had a wonderful long weekend at the cabin. The cabin was very clean and decorated beautifully. There was so much to do from playing pool, card and video games, cooking on the grill, spending time on the screened porch, to paddle boating and tubing on the private lake. We had everything we needed in the cabin to have an exciting family vacation. The owners thought of everything! It was one of our best vacations together. I would highly recommend it!! Donna B.
We stayed at the cabin several nights for a mini-honeymoon. We wanted a spot to just relax after the wedding week festivities- we couldn't have asked for a better spot! We cooked every night and ate on the patio overlooking the private pond. We fished in the private pond and the short walk to the lake then had a small fish fry one night! We even enjoyed playing pool at the pool table located inside the house and using the oversize bath tub! The place is extremely well decorated and just perfect for a romantic getaway! We will be back!
I truly could not have picked a better place for my wedding. The property was immaculate---complete with goslings and horses! Our guests raved about the gorgeous scenery, and the accommodations for those we invited to stay at the house and cabin were so comfortable and inviting. The cabin is just as nice as the main house. Every inch of these homes are decorated and maintained to perfection. Anything and everything we needed was close at hand, and the staff (Nancy, Lee, and by email, Andrea) were always nearby to assist. The owners stopped by to check on us as well, and they were very sweet. My photographer had a tough time choosing from all the gorgeous backdrops! If you are looking for an elegant location that can also be rustic, and where you can have your ceremony, rehearsal dinner, and reception in one place, this is for you. Would also be great for a family reunion. We will be back!!!
This cabin is exceptional in every way. The style and furnishings were lovely. Every day it was a delight to look out over the private lake and my husband enjoyed fishing from the provided Kayak! Everything is provided for you here, that you wouldn't even need to leave the cabin if you didn't want to. The Reynolds plantation itself is exclusive and well maintained and convenient for both Eatonton and Greensboro which have a good selection of restaurants and shops. Bone Island Grill is my recommendation though it gets pretty busy so you may have to wait for a table. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, and if you need a bigger place for a family reunion or wedding, there is a large house on the same estate that looks fab!
Such a pretty and well kept place! The cabin is beautifully decorated with everything that you could possible desire. A pool table and arcade game for the teenagers and the perfect porch for my husband and I. Very relaxing! Kitchen had everything we needed plus a brand new Weber grill on the porch. Full size washer and dryer also. The pond creates such a calm and serene atmosphere. Very quiet property. There are kayaks and a canoe that the kids loved. the walk to the lake is short and passes by the barn. If you're lucky, you'll see the horses! This was the cleanest rental that I have ever stayed in! Publix grocery store, restaurants, and movie theater are not far. We also rented the pontoon boat and it is well maintained and wonderful! Great for a family with teenagers, a girls' getaway, or golfing group!
What a gem this place is! The cabin is beautiful and well equipped, with fun decor. The property is breathtaking! From fishing and paddling on the private pond to the watching the handsome horses to boating and jet skiing on Lake Oconee - everything was top notch. This property worked so well for several generations to spend time together. Flat walking and easy water access were a big help, and lots of fun outdoor recreation was great for all ages. Owners are responsive and easy to work with. We hope to return!
I can only say that the pictures cannot do justice to the beauty and peacefulness of both the cabin and it's surroundings. Upon turning onto the driveway with the private lake on one side and horses grazing on the other, one can feel muscles begin to relax and smiles both inside and out start to emerge. The beauty of this place is in it's simplicity and private setting. Everything was in perfect order for us when we arrived, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Andrea was wonderful in booking, answering any questions, and ensuring that our needs were met. Our only regret is that our busy weekend schedule did not allow us to spend more "down time" there. We hope to return again.
My wife and I spent 3 wonderful months at this beautiful "cabin" and enjoyed every minute. The "cabin" is very nicely decorated in a western motif with many novel extras. Our daughter & family visited over the Christmas Holiday and enjoyed the pond, canoe, and kayaks...and the fishing! We're from NW Pa. and have been going south for the winter for several years. We've never found a place as unique and enjoyable as this. We've already booked a return for next winter. The hosts are readily available and extremely accommodating.
What a great place! For the second year, we held our corporate event at this location and were very impressed again at the venue. The houses had all been improved from last year and we didn't think it possible. It allowed our people a great opportunity to relax and work all at the same time. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking to host a company event, family reunion or wedding.
I stumbled upon this listing while trying to put together a last minute summer vacation. It was available on the dates we were looking for, and was within driving distance, so I took a leap of faith and booked it. It ended up being a venture well worth it! The photos of this cabin do not do it justice. It does have a rustic/hunting lodge motiff, but the woodwork is beautifully done, and it is very spacious and light with may windows and scenic views. It is beautifully decorated with Ralph Lauren/Polo-style high end finishings. My family and I were very happily surprised upon arrival! We took advantage of all of the "extras" - the paddle boat, row boat, kayaks, pool table, fire-pit and fishing off the dock. It was a great time that was enjoyed by both my husband and kids ages 9-16. We also rented the pontoon boat and jet skis, and definitely had a great time with them. We spotted several deer outside the cabin and while driving nearby, and we enjoyed the fireflies - which are very scarce in our neck of the woods. As far as booking goes, Duane was easy to get ahold of and was responsive both before and during our stay. I highly recommend the cabin - either for a family outing or for a relaxing getaway for couples. With a large group, the adjacent "plantation" home is gorgeous and sleeps up to 24 people, and it would be a neat location for reunions, etc...Overall, a great place to stay for a fun getaway!
Myself and my wife are from Austria and spend every year , when it is getting cold and unfriendly in Austria , 3 weeks in the States. This was the best accomodation we ever had in USA. What Mark calls a cabin is for Autrian means a high-class ,, luxurious fishing and hunting lodge. The description on the website was modest against that what wwe have found then. Very spacious , equipped with everything you need and more ( 2 TV sets are gigantic ).The " cabin " was extremely clean and very well maintained and everything worked perfectly. This place is ideal for golfers like us , as there are a lot of good golf courses very close. The place is very quit and perfect for relaxing.Mark is a hell of a guy and offers you every service necessary. We have recommended this place to our friends , unfortunately it is a little bit far away from Austria and you cannot go just for a couple of days ( it is approx. 18 hours trip from Austria ).There is nothing to critizice on Marks place , a little bit of a handicap is gastronomy around. There are not many restaurants , as we are used to have here in Europe , so we did more and more our own cooking. We want to wish very much luck to Mark and Sherry , we are convinced that they will have a lot of people renting his place in the future.
My wife and I were looking for a few days of peace and quiet to just get away. All our expectations were met and more. The property was as advertised. My wife and I really enjoyed watching the sun rise through the mist off of the lake setting in the swing on the porch. Cabin was clean and the grounds well maintained. We look forward to coming back and spending some time with the grandchildren.
Our stay at the cabin was wonderful!!! The best vaction I have had this year with my family. It is so beautiful and very quiet! It was excatly what my husband and I needed. We enjoyed the boating around the lake and riding the wave runners. I even used the excerise room at the club house, but really enjoyed my morning run around the property where we stayed. My huband enjoyed the golf facilities too. WE even took a day to go the the town greenbro and found the shops good and the people were very friendly. We enjoyed just being away and spending quailty time together. I loved the way the cabin is decorated it made you feel like you had stepped back in time... we love it so much we did not want to leave! We called it our little piece of paradise. We are looking foward to coming again and staying in the cabin next year and can''t wait to get back to our little piece of paradise.
We had a wonderful week at this cabin. It is spacious, very clean and comfortable. The main living area is open but with many different sitting areas. The screened in porch was relaxing, comfortable and spacious. The property was a ton of fun for our kids. From the fishing, to the swimming to the exploring, we had a ton to do. The owners are very reasonable people and easy to deal with. We would absolutely rent the cabin again and highly recommend it.
My husband, our adult daughters and their boyfriends and I had a spectacular 4 day Labor Day week-end on Lake Oconee at your charming cabin. Your property is beautiful, well maintained and very peaceful. We all wanted a relaxing get-away and that is exactly what we experienced. We only left Reynolds Plantation once to do some sightseeing and antique shopping in Madison. We cooked lots of great meals. Spent every evening playing pool or board games. And, really enjoyed each other's company. Our days were spent floating in the lake and jet skiing. We hadn't planned to rent the jet ski's but Mark, the owner, who was also there in the big house with his family, called and asked if we would like to use them and gave us a very reasonable rate for the day. We would definitely recommend this property and are thinking about another week-end next summer.
This cabin and property are spectacular! The cabin is so cleverly decorated, comfortable and clean. The view from every window is stunning and seeing the horses every day was so special. Lastly the location on the lake could not have been better. We had our own dock and brought our boat and jet ski. There is a boat ramp down the street and a marina just out of the cove for gas. Grocery, bait shop and such were also very convenient. Mark was super informative and helpful. We stayed an entire week and definitely look forward to returning!
I wanted to get the cabin to fish and allow my wife 8 year old daughter and the new addition 2 month old daughter to get away in a clean confortable cabin. The original plan was to get away from my dental office in metro Atlanta and stay in the cozy cabin that was available. Prior to leaving, I received a phone call from the owner of the cabin informing me there was a problem that would prevent us from staying in the cabin. He quickly informed me that the (main house would be where we would be staying). I did not inform my wife of the change of plans. When we arrived at the home, I told her we would just peak inside the window and go to the cabin. She reluctanly agreed to go to the porch with our 2 month old in hand. I then informed her we were going to be staying at the main house and she could not believe it. I will bring my staff at least twice a year and my family also. With 2 busy dental practices in Downtown Atlanta, This is a great area for my staff and associates to come and enjoy what Lake Oconnee has to offer. The property was everthing the add stated it would be and more..i must add that I saw both properties.
Excellent family vacation place; well-equiped, fun decor theme, relaxing atmosphere, and affordable. I would like to stay there eveyrweekend but I live 8 hours away!!! There are ogod grocery stores and smallll town eateries nearby if yiu want to eat in, Don't expect big town shopping and sightts, Put your feet up and relax.
We had family and friends over to the cabin to celebrate hubby's 40th. Everyone including us described the cabin as "picture." The pond was so beautiful and a perfect screen porch to drink coffee in the morning and look over the pond. We saw all kinds of wildlife like deer and ducks, and one beaver. On the short walk to Lake Oconee we visited the barn on the property and took pictures of the horses. The dock at the lack was so private and shaded and the water was very deep. The kids enjoyed swimming at the dock. Overall, the cabin was wonderfully decorated and we really felt like we had a great getaway that we hope to use again.
The area is awesome, the cabin was perfect - everything that was needed was within a 10 min drive. The small lake had plenty of fish to catch and the large lake offered many hours of fun. This is a perfect getaway for a family get together or for a group of friends. I would recommend renting the jet skis out to cruise on the lake and look at the beautiful houses in the area.
My family (bride's family) stayed here at the cabin for my wedding week. The wedding went so smoothly and between this cabin and the house, our guests were so well accommodated. The cabin has an amazing porch for playing cards, eating and visiting overlooking the private lake. The kitchen is good sized and was used as added storage for all of our wedding food! My family is from Montana so they have seen western decorations before, but they were amazed by the creativity in the cabin decorations. They absolutely loved it! A pool table, old-fashioned copper bathtub, fish statues, a giant buffalo head, old tin roof and old wood used for inside framing, I couldn't list even half of the cool decorations in this cabin! Although it is more like a small house than a "cabin" because it is so spacious and fancy! Well done to Mark and his family for all the hard work they put into creating this great atmosphere at their property. I highly recommend this for renting along side the house for a wedding! Your guests/family will LOVE to stay here! We sent floating wishing lanterns out after the wedding, and my grandparents were able to sit on the screened porch to watch them float by in front of the cabin. It was great!
This was an absolutely wonderful and relaxing vacation. The cabin sits on a beautiful property along with a "Main House," which is huge and beautiful (also available for rent). The cabin sits in front of a small lake which has a dock, canoe and paddle boat. There are horses on the property and access to the lake with 2 additional docks and boats you can rent. It was so close to Atlanta, we will definitely rent this place again. The cabin came well stocked and we enjoyed cooking there. Best of all, as the subdivision where the property is located is a part of Reynolds Plantation, Reynolds Plantation will send a free "taxi boat," so you can cross the lake and go over to the other side, eat at the Ritz, swim over there, etc. Although the subdivision has it's own clubhouse and pool - which is awesome- great place for our 5 year old. The place is spotless, the grounds are so well maintained and tranquil. KUDOS to the owner for providing such a great property. 5 STARS all the way!
I take occational vacations and when i do, i usually rent cabins to really get away from the city. Im used to renting cabins which always end up not being as advertised. Well i was very, very, very impressed with this cabin. What you see is exactly what you get here. The location is perfect. Its somewhat secluded for privacy yet minutes away from gas, food, restaurants etc. It was clean and well kept. Its roomier than it appears in the pictures. The dock is ideal for fishing. Not only do i recommend this cabin, im returning very soon.
We had a great week staying at the cabin and going to the master's golf tournment. It was so relaxing and quiet. We enjoyed the pool table. The screen in porch was great but I would put a couple of lounge chairs in there to relax on. I would like to thank Mark again for arranging tee times for my husband and son for two days. They loved playing the two courses. I loved the loft area and how the beds are hooked up with the heavy rope from the ceiling. What a awesome idea. I would recommend the cabin to everyone.
Mark and Sherri, This was a perfect birthday getaway weekend. I loved the cabin decor, the open floor plan and all the natural light from the windows. The screened in porch provided refreshing shade and is prefect for an afternoon nap on the porch swing. We also enjoyed roasting marshmallows by the campfire at night and taking the paddle boat and canoe out on the pond in the afternoon. Added bonuses: Horse stable and lake just a short stroll from the cabin and town shoppes a short drive away. We look forward to our future stays. Thanks Again
Mark and Sherri - Thank you for the perfect vacation with kids and grandkids. The boys fished, and the grandkids were in love with the canoe and the paddleboat. Very relaxing sitting on the screened porch. Awesome job with the décor. This "Cabin" was right up my alley! We also enjoyed the pontoon on the lake, but when you see "E" on the gas gauge, it means "E".... Some nice people towed us to the marina! We also took the grandkids to the clubhouse-beautiful pool, spa, and golf. Overall, we could not have been happier! We will be back soon! Thank you again!
We loved this house - so much more than a cabin, and two lakes to enjoy! The decor is great, so well done, so clean and beautifully maintained. A perfect blend of city and country in a very classy western ranch house! Furniture and beds were lovely, very comfortable and the rooms very spacious. The huge porch overlooking the smaller lake is to-die-for; plenty of seating and even 5 ceiling fans to cool everyone in the warm weather. Not to mention it's own fishing/swimming dock with paddle boat and canoe. It's hard to describe the scenic grounds; they are that fantastic. We were blown away when we turned into a long sweeping drive-way with a corral, horses and a picturesque barn on one side and a lovely lake fronting the cabin on the other, all sorrounded by tall trees . Just a short walk to Lake Oconnee and your own private boat dock. Too much to describe! We loved every minute in this cozy, comfortable and very special home hosted by such lovely people. We will definitely be back!
My wife and I rented the cabin in early November of 2012. The cabin was an incredible get away, whether sitting on the screened in porch or canoeing on your own private lake. The cabin offers a rustic getaway that has all just been remodeled with great detail. We also enjoyed the privacy of the gated community, incredible amenities, elegant dining, and some of the states premium golf. We will definitely be back.
This rental overlooks a pond that is filled with Canada geese. Beautiful setting and wonderfully decorated "cabin" (more like a house). The property features a stable with beautiful horses and 2 mini donkeys. Relaxing, Peaceful and nature-filled get-a-way.
Thanks Clair for the Review. The Geese and Ducks are beautiful on the Lake. It is a joy to look out and see the Horses Grazing in the Field. You are right about the cabin, with it being 1700 sq ft. is more like a house that a cabin. But we like to call it the "Cabin"
We had the opportunity to stay for one night. about 8 in our party. The boys loved the lake and fishing. swimming, jumping and diving off the private dock was a bonus. Breakfast on the screen porch was great. I would recommend this to any family. The swinging beds upstairs were very cool and the tub in the master suite made me feel like I was in the old west. great for large families or family reunions.
Braxton I am glad you and the boys had a good time. It is a fun spot for all ages. From relaxing on the back porch to jumping off the dock. Great for couples get away, anniversary or families. Thanks for the review.
What a peaceful place!! This rustic enterior literally erased the stress and hustle of my life. The decor made the old west come to life. I do believe I could spend a full day in the copper tub, next time I'm bringing some cowboy boots to hang over the edge...ha. But honestly I have never been so at peace. Sitting on the screen porch looking at the pond, fishing at the pond dock, riding my boat on Lake Oconee, golfing at Great Water, playing pool in the cabin....my family and I will be booking again!!! Thank you for the 5++ Star accommodations.
Thanks for the Review. Glad you had a good time. The Copper Tub is a plus..Love to have you stay with us again. Yall come back now!!!
